Senior Financial Abuse: What is it? Who Does it Affect? and How Can you Prevent It?

This discussion will shed light on the many forms of financial harm many seniors are subject to and is meant to engage not only seniors but their adult children.
This presentation will help people understand the scope of this problem and ways that you can help prevent the damage that elder financial abuse creates and protect your savings and assets. Whether you have a retirement plan or not, this type of abuse affects people of all financial and educational backgrounds.

This family-friendly battle royale draws a large crowd each year, and this year promises to be even more fun, action-packed, and memorable. There will be raffles, prizes in multiple categories, and some serious local talent, including the emcee, Jadd from Z107, and a panel of celebrity judges. All proceeds raise awareness of, and funding for, vital programs that help CAPSC reduce the impact of poverty and build a stronger community. Go to

Volunteer Fair

Hosted on the top floor of the Dover Public Library on Saturday, November 18 from 10am to 2pm, the Volunteer Fair welcomes people to learn about, and chat with representatives of, several local non-profits that are doing wonderful things in the area and who are looking for volunteers to aid their organization.
Participants include the Dover Children's Home, the New Hampshire Tax Aide program, the Cocheco Valley Humane Society, My Friend's Place, SOS Recovery, Community Action Partnership of Strafford County, Riverside Rest Home/Hyder House, the Woodman Museum, and Zebra Crossings. The Volunteer Fair is free and open to the public. All ages are invited to attend, get information on the various organizations, and hopefully make a match and decide to volunteer in their local community. Note: there is no obligation to sign up for any volunteer position, unless you want to!

Enjoy the holidays and relax while making your own festive floral decorations in our "Holiday Floral Design" three-week class. In the first class, you'll create your own wreath, in the second class a boxwood Christmas tree, and in the final class cheerful candles and fragrant evergreens will be the foundation for a design, incorporating other mixed green and holiday regalia.
