EXCERPT FROM
THE
PILGRIM
"My Shadow"
by Carrie Tawney

Even though I only have two legs, my shadow has four. Of course it's my Daisy - these days I call her my Velcro Girl. Ever since we got our housing she won't let me out of her sight, fearing that I will leave her and not come back. Like when we were homeless - whenever I went to a shelter, in order to qualify for housing, I had to leave her with a friend. Being homeless truly affected her. Don't tell me that animals are dumb. She is so very smart and can sense some things even before I do them.

Thank you God for blessing me with my little shadow and my best friend.

OUR CATHEDRAL AT A GLANCE

NEW AND ONGOING

Thanksgiving is coming November 23!

We're having a feast again this year and our generous neighbors at the Black Seed are again providing all the Turkey, stuffing and mashed potato we can eat - and more! As always, we are hoping for the presence of (and also pies/or side dishes from) the Sunday Morning Congregation who we hope will join with MANNA again this year to make this a spectacular day for all God's people. We are grateful to be able to announce too that the entire monastic community of SSJE will be joining us this year both for our 11:00 Eucharist and for our meal downstairs. Any and all queries should be directed to Kevin Neil either in person or at
