4th Grade State Projects

Do you know anyone in the following states?
Louisiana, Georgia, Minnesota, Alabama, California, Florida, Texas, Colorado, Alaska, Tennessee, Washington, New York, Michigan, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Rhode Island, Hawaii, Virginia, Maine, South Carolina, and Arkansas

The 4th grade class is very excited to start their state report projects, and we need your help! In addition to extensive research, students also give presentations in April. To help with their presentation, the 4th graders love to receive packages from people that live in the states they are studying. Favorite items include brochures, postcards, t-shirts, samples of foods unique to the region, souvenirs, etc.

Final Exam Schedule
Finals will be held the week of December 11-15. It is important students be present on these days. Please avoid scheduling any appointments that would take your child out of school during this week. Click the link below to view the final exam schedule for the end of the first semester.

Day School Community Highlights

Coat-A-Kid
Evansville Day School's National Honor Society Chapter is supporting the Coat-A-Kid program of Don's Claytons Cleaners to keep Tri-State kids warm this winter. Please help out by donating new or gently used infants' or children's coats in the plastic bins located in the Commons, Atrium, or Primary School hallway now until December 15. Thank-you for supporting this worthy cause.

Holiday Programs & Holiday Tea
On Friday, December 15, students will present their holiday programs in the gymnasium. JPK, Pre-K, and Kindergarten perform at 8:30 am, and 1st - 12th Grade music students perform at 9:30 am.  1st - 12th graders should plan to arrive no later than 9:00 am. JPK - Kindergarten should be in classrooms by 8:00 am.  Both groups are dismissed immediately after their performances; there are no after care or Academy Day options.

Dress for the performances is:
JPK  - Middle School - Holiday festive (dressy)
Upper School Choir - Jeans and Holiday sweaters

Friends of Evansville Day School PTO hosts a Holiday Tea for the parents in the Atrium before each performance, so plan to come mingle with other families while enjoying coffee, tea, and goodies!

Welcome, Anna Vance!
Evansville Day School is pleased to announce the hiring of Anna Vance as our School Nurse. After graduating from the University of Southern Indiana with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Anna worked for over 15 years as a Registered Nurse for Tri-state Orthopedic Surgeons and St. Mary's Medical Center. She has also served as a Substitute School Nurse for the EVSC and as a Lead Teacher for God's Kids Preschool.

Anna has been working as a temporary substitute nurse for Day School during Livia Houser's maternity leave and has already become a welcomed addition to our community. She will be available from 9 am - 2 pm each school day.  If you have not yet done so, please stop by to meet Anna and welcome her to Day School.
