Over the River and Through the Woods We Go...
Contributed by Laura Miller, Advocate

Traveling for a vacation is an opportunity to relax and to get away from the day-to-day pressures that we face. However, traveling with one or more children can sometimes take away from that relaxing break - let alone traveling with one or more children with special needs. Before leaving the house, there is always "the list". On the list are things such as diapers, wipes, water bottle, change of clothes (hopefully in their current size), snacks, medications, wallet (ideally with your ID and money inside), and that is just the start! Oh, and remembering the kids is also a big one.

Senate Bill 109, Mandatory Reporting of Mistreatment Against an Adult with a Disability, was signed into Colorado law by Governor Hickenlooper on June 5, 2016. Who You Gonna Call When the Bus Don't Come?
Contributed by Nancy Bowden, Director of Advocacy

It might be summertime according to the calendar, but many of you are subconsciously counting the days until that first day of school. Some of you are secretly, some not-so secretly, looking forward to waving "bye" to your little one as that terrific yellow, metal-of-a-blessing, drives off with your little one. Others of you are counting the days in dread as you anticipate that once again your little one will not get picked up by that short, yellow headache of a bus.
