Greater Freeport Chamber of Commerce
Chamber Chatter News Edition

Hello everyone;
I hope your summer season is off to a great start and that it keeps growing through the coming months.  Please remember to take time for you too!  I remember how it was working in my store, 7 days a week all season long, it gets exhausting and you all deserve to enjoy all the beauty that our lovely State has to offer.

I want to take a moment to make sure that you are all aware of our major fundraising event for 2016 which is the Great Freeport Golf Ball Drop being held on September 9 at Freeport Country Club.  A scramble match will begin at 1pm followed immediately by a helicopter drop of 1,500 balls.  We are selling tickets for $10 for a chance to win the grand prize of.....wait for it..... $2,500!!  We need all hands on deck to make sure that our members get a chance to buy tickets and participate in the tournament as well.  We run a lean non-profit and hope that this event is even more successful as we planned.  It will raise funds for our Entrepreneur Scholarship as well as allow us to bring in some speakers and education for our members in 2017.

If you are able to sell tickets at your business, please get in touch with me ASAP and I will bring you a few packets.  We will also be bringing posters around town as well.  Best part, you do not have to be present to win so anyone visiting Freeport can buy one (or more) too!
For more information, please visit our website, you can sign up to play, sponsor or buy tickets there as well as by getting in touch with me or any board member directly.

WELCOME NEW CHAMBER MEMBERS
Midcoast Federal Credit Union
186 Lower Main Street

Exciting news! We are pleased to announce that the Credit Union's newest location is now open and welcoming members at 186 Lower Main Street in Freeport. The Freeport office represents the Credit Union's fifth location joining Bath, Brunswick, Edgecomb and Thomaston.

The Freeport location offers members a full service branch facility, complete with a convenient walk-up ATM and night depository in the front of the building, as well as a single lane drive-up service behind the facility. Inside, members will be served at new pod-style stations which provide for a more personal service experience. For loans and account services, members will enjoy the light-filled lobby and offices, coffee service and free WIFI! "Because so much of today's financial management tools are self-driven with technology, we wanted to create an environment where members would be comfortable learning and using our mobile and web-based services," shares Lori Saucier, SVP Marketing and Information Technology, "I firmly believe we achieved that goal!"
