CSBG Allocation Letter
We are awaiting our quarterly funding/allocation letter from HHS. As soon as we have it in hand, we will generate and send out your 2016-17 contracts. We will work to turn it around as quickly as possible. Your cooperation in signing and returning the documents for quick processing is greatly appreciated
ROMA Next Generation Comment Period
The ROMA Next Generation framework builds on ROMA principles and practices to support CSBG Agencies and states as you gather and use data at all points of the ROMA Cycle. The ROMA Next Generation framework has led to the proposed CSBG Annual Report. The CSBG Annual Report contains the ROMA Next Gen components and performance management framework, and is currently under review during a 60 day comment period. The 60-day comment period began on June 16, 2016 and will end on August 15, 2016. OCS issued a Dear Colleague Letter on June 16th which contains guidance on submitting feedback. You can find the proposed CSBG Annual Report here
Organizational Standards Update
The Organizational Standards Database system is now active! A representative of each agency should have received an email last week with instructions on how to create a username and a password for your agency. It is important that only one person from each agency initially reset the password. That password can then be sent out to anyone in the agency that will have access to the system.

July 1st was the original upload date for documentation. We are extending this and asking that all documentation be uploaded throughout the month of July, and staff will begin reviewing the documentation in August. Your Program Staff Member will discuss the process for reviewing the documentation with your agency during the month of July. As you log into the system and begin uploading documentation, don't hesitate to contact us at csbg@dss.virginia.gov if you have any questions. Also, the Settanni Group has great support and is willing to help walk you through any issues or problems you might be having.

Finally, additional reporting capabilities are being built right now! A demographics report (with same info in it) will be ready by the time of the first quarterly report. Financial reporting will be available soon. Demos will be set up as these parts of the system are finalized.

Tri-County Community Action "Opportunity Park"
June 25, 2016, will be remembered as the launch of "Opportunity Park" in Halifax County, Virginia. Tri-County Community Action Agency, along with seventeen (17) other community partners

equip individuals and families with possibilities for the achievement of their success.
Participants were given an "Opportunity Map" that helped them identify key areas where assistance was needed.
  1. Financial and economic opportunities,
  2. Career and workplace opportunities,
  3. Education and development opportunities
  4. Health and wellness opportunities,
  5. Spiritual and motivational opportunities,
