July 2016 Port Orchard Concerts on the Bay
|
Summertime is Music Time on the Kitsap Peninsula
|
|
If you love music, come to the Kitsap Peninsula. There are free waterfront concerts most nights of the week during July and August. Not only will you see an amazing array of musical styles - we've got rock, country, jazz, salsa (with dance lessons), Elvis impersonators and more - but the settings are straight off a picture postcard. There's something magical about being outside on the waterfront as the light softens and the sun sets on our long summer days. Add music, a picnic with your family or sweetheart, and the chance to dance and sing along with old friends and new, and you've got the makings of a memorable evening.
Read
our blog to learn more about what each Kitsap Peninsula city and town has scheduled and then head to
the VKP website to plan a music-filled getaway. You'll find a variety of family- and pet-friendly lodging options and things to do around the Kitsap Peninsula region.

Groovy Hi-Lo's 15th Street Cafe
This Bremerton diner serves American classics in a quirky setting that's a blast from the past for Baby Boomers and fun for the whole family. A retired Volkswagen Van holds an outdoor booth and the rear of another van forms a coffee station inside the restaurant, where the walls are lined with retro Thermoses. You can find Spam, Ovaltine and Tang on the menu, along with Hi-Lo's famous moon biscuits - biscuit dough cooked in a waffle iron to create "craters" for sausage gravy. Another whimsical dish is the Dr. Seuss-inspired Green Eggs & Ham, a pesto, ham and mozzarella scramble. Hi-Lo's is the hub of a growing foodie district with Irish restaurant Bualadh Bos and the new Hale's Ales tasting room nearby. Read our blog and go to VisitKitsap.com to learn more
