Celebrate Wilkinsburg Artists at Dream City on July 16
Over 40 artists across the borough come together for a day-long event

"Art and the making of art in a community can be transformative," said Brandon Boan, a Dream City Art artist and owner of Tip Type, a letterpress print shop and artist project space in Wilkinsburg. "In just the last few years, the number of artists, and the sharing of ideas and resources among them, has grown from a handful of individuals into an energetic, cooperative community that is part of the larger community of Wilkinsburg."

On Saturday, July 16 from 12 to 5 p.m., Dream City Art, a walking tour of studios, pop-up art exhibits, and performances, will celebrate and showcase the many artists who live, work, and create in Wilkinsburg.

Wilkinsburg's lively and thriving artist community includes visual artists as well as musicians and writers. Both well-established artists with national reputations and emerging artists early in their careers will be opening their studios and presenting their work at more than 10 sites across the borough during Dream City Art.

Participants will receive a map and more info on event day. In the meantime, check out the event Facebook page for more details.  Dream City Art is free and open to the public -- don't miss it!
