Last week, we told you how to not send an invoice copy to a customer when it only has a skip reason on it. If you missed the flyer, click here! In week 9, we would like to give you some tips on how to send marketing messages to your customers. See tip #9 below for a detailed explanation. 
Tip #9: How to send marketing messages
Using CMC to send marketing messages to your customers is a great way to boost sales, show customer appreciation, and build customer loyalty! Create a custom template to fit your needs, assign a via code, and send. It's that easy! Use CMC to the fullest potential by taking advantage of the many marketing capabilities the CMC has to offer.

In previous tips, we have shown you how to locate templates; make changes to templates and save revised templates in the proper location so you can use them. If you forgot how to do this, click here. Now, I would like to remind you where your Marketing tab is located in Generate Messages so you can send messages using your templates for Sales/Marketing messages.

Modules > Customer Message Centre > Generate Messages > Marketing tab



From this screen, you will follow the same steps to send messages using a template that we gave you in week 4. Notice that there are many different options when creating and sending your marketing messages. These include start date, customer type, via code, ZIP code, etc. This allows you to send personalized marketing messages to a specific target audience.

Want to promote a seasonal item to customers in a certain geographic location? Easy! Customize a template to feature an "item of the week" and use the marketing tab on the Generate Messages screen to filter by a range of a ZIP codes to receive this promotion! (Version 6.2.2 R7 or later)

Want to send a discount to your larger commercial customers who buy in bulk? Customize a template to feature special bulk pricing and use your Customer Type filter to send this message to your commercial customers only. Get the right marketing message to the right customer with CMC.

Another great way to show customer appreciation and build loyalty is to send out a newsletter to your customers. There is no better way to make your customers feel important than to keep them up to date and involved in what is happening with your business and what is to come! A newsletter is also a great place to include exclusive offers for your most valuable customers as well! Show your customers that they are VIP by giving them the latest news and an exclusive offer - a great way to thank them for being a loyal customer! When you create a newsletter you can simply paste it into your template.
