Construction Update     |   July 11, 2016
Below are updates for DeForest Area High School, Eagle Point Elementary School, and Windsor Elementary School as we move through the phases of construction and grand openings!

DeForest Area High School STEM
July 8th update from Findorff Project Manager Aaron Zutz

Finishing work has begun! Painting has started in the shop spaces, and drywall has been hung in the STEM collaboration space. Classrooms in the existing part of the building have been framed and are almost ready for drywall.

The first interior painting was done roughly 40,000 years ago by cave dwellers. They even used stencils in some of the work and "spray-painted" by blowing paint through hollow bird bones. (Source: Paint Quality Institute)


Eagle Point Elementary School
July 8th update from Findorff Project Manager Aaron Zutz

Eagle Point is starting to take form as structural steel has been erected in Area A.  Concrete slabs are being poured, and installation of the retaining wall for the north parking lot will begin next week.

"Did you know?"
95 percent of the steel that was taken from commercial construction demolition sites was recycled and made into new steel products in 2002. Steel framing actually contains more than 28 percent recycled steel!

Windsor Elementary School
July 1st update from Findorff Project Manager, Sara Michalski

The drop-off and visitor parking lot has been curb and guttered and the community bike path will be ready to see traffic next week.  Interior walls and door frames are being installed.  The gym precast is nearly complete.

"Did you know?"  
The largest parking lot in the entire world is in the West Edmonton Mall in Alberta, Canada. It is a wrap
around lot and holds the Guinness Book of World Records for total number of parking spots having a grand total of
20,000 spots.
