Dr Sindu Kanjeekal, Adjunct Professor, Schulich School of Medicine, Windsor Regional Cancer Centre, Windsor, ON

Dr Sindu Kanjeekal is fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons who graduated medical school from the University of Western Ontario and then obtained fellowship certification in Internal Medicine, Hematology (McMaster University) and Medical Oncology. She is also certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is the clinical and research lead for multiple myeloma in Windsor. She has been the local primary investigator for clinical trials in myeloma and has advocated for Windsor's place in the Myeloma Canada Research Network (MCRN). 

 

Dr Martha Louzada, Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, Western University, London Health Sciences Centre, London, ON

Dr.Martha Louzada, BSc, MD, MSc is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and a Hematology Consultant at the University of Western Ontario/ London Health Sciences Centre, joining the Department of Medicine in July 2010.  She also holds a Cross Appointment in Oncology through the London Regional Cancer Program as well as a Cross Appointment as Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, UWO.    
 
Ms Erikka Johnson, Oncology Nurse, Windsor Regional Cancer Centre, Windsor, ON
 
Erikka Johnson completed her nursing degree at the University of Windsor in 2010 and is presently a registered nurse in the oncology unit at Windsor Regional Hospital. Earlier this year, Erikka was awarded the deSouza Nurse Designation after having completed 12 courses and a 75-hour fellowship, all designed to improve the knowledge and skills nurses need to take care of cancer patients.  The de Souza Designation is the latest standard in cancer care nursing excellence. Nurses with the de Souza Designation are recognized by employers, patients and families, policymakers and the public as well-regarded health care professionals possessing strong communication and leadership skills.  Erikka Johnson is one of only 20 nurses in Ontario to obtain the de Souza Nurse Designation.
 
Mr Aldo Del Col, Co-founder & Chairman, Myeloma Canada
 
Since being diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2002, Mr Del Col has directed his attention to building an effective national platform to address the needs of the Canadian myeloma community. Founded in 2005, Myeloma Canada is the only national non-profit organization uniquely focused on the needs of the Canadian myeloma community. As a patient-driven, grassroots organization, Myeloma Canada's mission is to provide educational resources to patients and caregivers, raise awareness of the disease, advocate for improved access to new therapies and accelerate patient-focused myeloma research.
