On Wednesday, July 13, 2016 the Planning & Zoning Commission will host a community outreach meeting for the 2016 Freedom Community Comprehensive Plan. The meeting will be held at Liberty High School from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the auditorium. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

This is your opportunity to become informed and give feedback on the proposed changes to our Freedom Community Master Plan which will guide development and land use for the next decade (the last Master Plan update was in 2001).
We need to review the analysis (not yet provided to us) of the impact of proposed land use designation changes on our property values, schools, traffic, water quality & water and sewer bills, among other things. Review of the proposed goals and priorities of the Master Plan should reflect our community's vision.
A precedent-setting proposal to change existing land designation of school properties in the Freedom District from the current - Conservation - Public- to Industrial and/or Commercial, and the impact that may have on our existing communities needs to be discussed.
The link above provides a background of information regarding the proposal with an attached map. The Planning Department is working on gathering a complete and easy to read listing of all of the proposed land use changes which will be available at the meeting.
These are very important issues for our community to weigh in on - don't be left out of the conversation!
