Dear DEC Members,
It’s finally here! In recent years, we’ve heard consistent feedback from you about needed improvements for our website. We heard you! We’re very excited to announce that over the next several weeks, we will be rolling out a completely re-constructed online home for the Division for Early Childhood. The new website has been imagined and designed from the ground up with specific consideration to keeping you, our DEC members, and outside visitors in mind. The DEC website should be an inviting place where information is accurate, up-to-date, and easily and intelligibly accessible to all who put our name in their browser search box.

As we launch this online experience, it’s possible that there might be some growing pains. We’re planning for the switch to happen as seamlessly as possible, but we understand that, as with any large project, it’s possible there will be some kinks to work out in the first few hours, days, or weeks. We first want to apologize, and thank you for your patience. If you happen to encounter any broken links or other obstacles during your DEC surfing experience, we’d also like to ask that you let us know by emailing dec@dec-sped.org with the page url and a description of the problem.

Lastly, as part of our re-branding of the DEC website, you’ll also notice a new DEC logo. Right now is an exciting time for DEC, which brings with it a unique opportunity to guide the way we’re perceived to new and familiar individuals, professionals, and partners. We want our logo to be distinctive, professional, and to say something about who we are. After an extensive process of discussion, designs, revisions, and voting, we’ve found a logo that speaks to our inclusive, diverse, people-oriented, and united approach to improving the lives of young children (birth to age 8) with special needs and their families. Additionally, certain design elements of this new logo were intentionally chosen to align directly with CEC’s logo in an effort to visibly strengthen the familial bond we share with our parent organization.

We hope you’re as excited about these new changes as we are and appreciate the feedback we’ve received from you over the last several years regarding these exciting enhancements.

In service,
