Message from the Chairman

I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July! Thomson & McDuffie County kicked off the holiday weekend with Freedom Blast on Friday, July 1 & it was a massive success! We don't have room to thank everybody who helped make Freedom Blast possible, but I'd like to mention a few who deserve extra special thanks:
  • Presenting sponsor for the Patriots of McDuffie County, Shaw Industries & Plant Manager David Harless.
  • City of Thomson for financial & logistical support.
  • Chris Crenshaw for his stirring rendition of our National Anthem.
  • Major David B. Moore, USMC, Retired, for his keynote address.
  • Debbie Jones, our Executive Director for putting together a terrific celebration on short notice. "The difficult we do immediately; the impossible takes a little longer!"
There were many more who helped make the evening a success, including our corporate sponsors, volunteers, individuals & businesses who contributed time & other resources. Your efforts were much appreciated & enjoyed by the crowd in attendance!

The Farmers Market will be back up & running Saturday, July 9 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Please plan to visit & support our vendors. See you there!
