BGANZ Update

Toowoomba as you may be aware is known as 'The Garden City' with more than 150 beautiful parks and gardens and home to the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers.

The 2016 conference theme, 'Cultivating Botanical Richness' aims to highlight the many ways in which botanic gardens in Queensland and across Australia and New Zealand play an important role in the environments in which we live, learn and leisure.

The Conference will enable delegates to come together, network and return to their respective places with new ideas, skills and hopefully a heightened passion to promote botanical brilliance.

Vacancy: Grounds Operation Manager, Boroondara Cemetery, Victoria

Boroondara Cemetery is Australia's first landscaped garden cemetery, is included on the Victorian Heritage Register and is a tourist attraction.  The 12.6 hectares contains many significant monuments and a range of fine trees, some rare in cultivation in Victoria.

The cemetery is currently undergoing a horticultural renewal and the successful applicant will be responsible for this exciting renewal program.

The position offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with qualifications in horticulture and ability to plan and prioritise scheduled work requirements.  This is an autonomous role but you must be prepared to be a flexible team player as required.  You will need strong communication skills and the ability to develop strong relationships with fellow staff members, stakeholders and contractors.
