Signature Charity Event Raises $10,000
Approximately 150 community women shared a fun night out for a good cause at Giving Hope, Women's Giving Circle annual signature charity event, April 13 at Fox Hills Golf & Banquet Center in Plymouth. More than $10,000 was raised at the "Giving Our All for Family, Fun and Fitness" event during an evening of shopping and fashion, tempting raffle items and wine pull, and delicious refreshments.
Proceeds from the event will support scholarships for youth to attend Saint Joseph Mercy Health System's ShapeDown program in the greater Canton and Plymouth area. ShapeDown is a weight management program for families where parents and children (ages 6-18) learn to live a healthy, active lifestyle. Funds will also support school assemblies for presentations on healthy eating and good health.
"We appreciate so many community women coming out to make the event a success," said Betty Bloch, event chairperson. "The funds raised from the event will allow more youth to participate in St. Joe's ShapeDown classes."
