AML - Anti-Money Laundering


We've emailed a number of our clients asking for a current Photo ID and a Proof of Address. This is in relation to the Anti-money Laundering Regulations set up in December 2007. 

Money Laundering means the exchanging of criminally obtained money or assets for legally obtained money or other assets and the regulations are in place to prevent criminal and terrorist activity.
 
At EasyBooks we follow the legal guidelines set by HMRC and ask all our clients to provide us with 2 forms of identification; a Photo ID and Proof of Address. These can be in one of the following forms:

Documentary Evidence of Your Identity:
  • Full valid Signed Passport
  • Current UK Photo card Driving License
  • EEA Member State Identity Card
  • Valid HM Forces Identity Card
  • Firearm or Shotgun Certificate
Documentary Evidence of Address
  • Recent utility bill from the last 3 months 
  • Local council tax bill for current year
  • Bank or Building Society Statement
  • Recent Original Mortgage Statement
  • Inland Revenue Self-Assessment
  • House or Motor Insurance Certificate

If a client fails to provide us with a current copy of their ID, we unfortunately have to put a pause on their work which can be a major inconvenience for all involved. Therefore, if you receive an email from us asking for Proof of ID and/or Proof of Address, please don't ignore it and please act promptly. Thank you in advance for your assistance on this matter.

  Self-Assessment 2015/2016 Deadlines at EasyBooks
 
Please note our deadlines for receiving your       Self-Assessment paperwork for 2016.
 
DEADLI NE 1 - FRIDAY, 29th July 2016, 5pm
If you bring in your paperwork before this date,
no additional charges will be added. However, if you bring your paperwork to us AFTER this date,
an additional 5% charge will be applied to your total invoice.
 
 
DEADLINE 2 - FRIDAY, 11th November 2016, 5pm
This is the final deadline for paperwork. Anything brought into us after this date will receive a 20% additional charge added to the final invoice. We also cannot guarantee to submit your tax return on time.
 
We ask that you check ALL relevant paperwork and documents brought to us, as missing items (e.g. bank statements) delay the whole process and increase the time it takes us to complete the work!
