I am proud to be what some would call, a "Carolina Girl."  I am a native of Charlotte, NC.  I attended Winston-Salem State University on a full academic scholarship to earn my Bachelor of Social Work degree, and went on to attend Winthrop University to earn my Master of Social Work degree.  Read more about Tia 

2-1-1 is an easy to remember, three digit telephone number that connects people with important community services to meet every day needs and the immediate needs of people in crisis. General referrals include agencies that provide utility assistance, shelter, food services, health services and much more.  The service maintains a comprehensive database of resources including federal, state, and local government agencies, private non-profit agencies, faith and community based organizations, schools, libraries and neighborhood and civic organizations- information for 33,000 organizations across South Carolina.  In addition to general referrals, 2-1-1 has contracts with DHEC and DSS to help register callers for benefits, such as SNAP, Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act, and WIC.  Read more about 2-1-1.
