2016 Presidential Transition Plan
In preparation for the incoming Presidential Administration, the National Congress of American Indians is developing a Presidential Transition document to be shared with future federal officials. This document seeks to provide detailed policy guidance on issues impacting Indian Country. NCAI would like NAIHC to review the draft transition plan linked below.
This effort was discussed during NAIHC's July legislative committee conference call held 07/07/2016. and will be discussed again during the next  monthly conference call scheduled for August 11, 2016.

Timeline of the 2016 Transition Plan
June NCAI Mid-Year: First draft of Transition Plan distributed to Chairs, Tribal leaders, and NCAI partner organizations.
July - August: Input is gathered from tribes and national and regional partners; issue area
Teleconferences scheduled.
Late September: Next round draft of Transition Plan circulated.
October Annual: Draft Transition Plan to be reviewed and adopted by tribal leadership during NCAI Annual Conference.
Early November: Implement the distribution plan for the final 2016 Transition Plan.
