The Energy Network Home Upgrade
Program Updates:  Effective August 1, 2016
To ensure consistent program implementation region-wide, The Energy Network is announcing updated project requirements for  The Energy Network's Energy Upgrade California® Home Upgrade program.

Effective August 1, 2016, the following changes will apply to new Home Upgrade project reservations with The Energy Network:
  • Minimum 10% energy savings OR measure rebate value of $2,000 or greater:
    • Projects with 10% or greater energy savings qualify. No audit is required. An energy savings calculator will be provided by the program.
    • Or,
    • Projects can qualify without the energy savings calculation by including measures with a combined rebate value of $2,000 or greater. This is in alignment with the SCE/SoCalGas program 200-point minimum.
  • Final rebate must not exceed 50% of project cost:
    • The $3,000 maximum is still in place.
    • For example, if the project cost is $5,000, the maximum final rebate is $2,500, even if the sum of measure rebates is $2,700.
All other program requirements including the three-measure minimum remain the same.

Frequently Asked Questions:
  • What if I reserve my incentive before August 1, 2016 but do not submit my post-retrofit application ahead of the December 31, 2016 deadline?
    •   The new program requirements described above will apply.
  • What if I reserve my incentive on August 1, 2016?
    • The new program requirements described above will apply.
  • How do I learn more?
    • Contact your Account Manager. We are also hosting a Program Updates Webinar where we plan to gather your feedback on how we can best support you during this program change.

  • What if my project includes measures with a rebate value of $2,400, but the project cost is only $3,600?
    • This project meets the minimum measure rebate value requirement of $2,000, so no energy calculation is required. However, the customer's final rebate will be $1,800, as the maximum final rebate must be no greater than 50% of the $3,600 project cost.
  • Will the incentives and requirements go back to the old structure on January 1, 2017?
    • The new program requirements will continue to apply in 2017.
  • How will I calculate the energy savings for a Home Upgrade project?
    • The energy savings calculator will be provided to Participating Contractors later this month, in alignment with the SCE/SoCalGas program. If your project includes a measure rebate value of $2,000 or greater, the requirement is satisfied without using the calculator.
