FULL LOGO NEW SHRUNK
  ,

Along with July comes lots of pool time, play time and barbecues. The Fourth of July is right around the corner, and that means fireworks and lots of loud noise. We also know that our pets can get pretty scared as a result. Sometimes fireworks start weeks earlier than Independence Day
and go on for weeks after. Please keep your pets' safety in mind when it comes to the loud noises as well as keeping them safe during pool time. We also have some important grooming tips for your dog's summertime hair. All the information is right here in this month's Pet Tips and Treats newsletter, which is filled with valuable information. Remember to watch for our periodic special discount "treat" just for you and your pet to enjoy. Don't forget to share the love and send our newsletter to others who also cherish their pets.

The Fourth of July brings many things, from picnics and barbecues to swimming and fireworks. What's often fun for humans can be a nightmare for animals. From dangerous foods and excessive heat to loud fireworks that can frighten dogs, cats and other animals, it's important to have safety measures in place when it comes to our pets.

Employee Spotlight:  Destiny Spencer, resort supervisor and Victoria Gutierrez, lead guest service attendant
Second Home Pet Resort enjoys showing appreciation of its staff and recently promoted two exceptional staff members.

In May, Destiny Spencer, formerly a client service specialist, was promoted to resort supervisor, giving her more responsibilities with scheduling, vet services, and transporting dogs and cats, and much more.

Destiny has been with Second Home since February 2013 and particularly enjoys working with animals while also learning about the business side of Second Home. "This is my field that I want to continue in," she said.

She especially likes when clients leave satisfied. "It really means something to me," she said. "We care about the pets just as if they were our own."

Formerly a guest service attendant, Victoria Gutierrez was promoted to lead in June, which brings her more responsibilities including taking the lead with arrivals, departures leading her staff.

On the job she especially likes to interact with the animals. "It's a different thing every day," she said, including receiving kisses.

She treats customer's pets like her own. "I am always honest with customers and will do whatever is in my power to make sure their animal is comfortable," she said.

Victoria loves her coworkers and says when it comes to the animals, they all see eye to eye. "We all have that one thing in common and have a main goal. You dedicate your life to making these animals comfortable."
