Happy Fourth of July
The Miami Valley Council wishes you a very safe and happy Fourth of July. As Scouts and Scouters, we are reminded to do our duty to our country. As we celebrate our nation's independence and the freedom we all enjoy, please take some time to remember those serving in our military and our veterans and thank them for their service. The Dayton Dragons are offering several Scout Night Games, Scout Baseball Clinics and a game and an overnight at Fifth Third Field. Your Pack, Troop or Crew are entitled to great Scout rates for each of these events. For more information click here.

Don't forget to attend one of our fall popcorn trainings on (click the date you would like to attend) July 26th or July 28th. There will be tons of useful information and you won't want to miss the debut of our new popcorn superhero!  All units who attend one of the trainings will receive 2% bonus commission on their sales.
Shoot For Scouting
The Corporate Clays Challenge is all new this year! Join us on October 14 th beginning at noon for a great afternoon of shooting sports. This year's event will feature 100 rounds which includes 50 rounds of trap, 25 rounds of skeet, and NEW this year, 25 rounds of five stand. The day begins with lunch and concludes with awards and drawings for a shotgun and a handgun.  Sponsorships are still available and team registrations are now being taken. Wood Badge
The Wood Badge training program is the premier advanced leader training, open to ALL registered Scouters in the Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity, and Venturing programs.  It highlights personal and unit level leadership development with team building and other useful skills.  The course is held in attractive outdoor settings and some outdoor skills will be taught and utilized.  Wood Badge is fun, challenging, and inspirational Scouting experience.

Unveiling Ceremony for the Lincoln Statue
On September 17th the Lincoln Society of Dayton is looking for scouts to help at their unveiling of the statue of President Lincoln. The new statue commemorates when President Lincoln spoke on the Dayton courthouse steps as he campaigned for the presidency on September 17, 1859.
