United Way
As the company continues to grow, TFJG has been increasingly active about giving back and continuing to invest in the community. Total of 52 team members have helped raise more than $9600 to go towards the United Way Campaign. Marina Shores Opened Doors to Frank W. Cox High School
Marina Shores apartments in Virginia Beach opened their doors to the students of Frank W. Cox High School. The students in the Independent Living classes have been learning about renting apartments as part of the life skills unit and culminating with a field trip to the community.
Raena Weimer, Family and Consumer Science Teacher said,
"From the beginning, our tour guide Aaron was professional, friendly and organized. He immediately developed rapport with me by sharing that he had attended school in the Virginia Beach City Public school system. During the tour, he was extremely patient with the students' questions. He related well to the adolescents and was very knowledgeable with the objectives that needed to be covered during the tour. He was prepared with the questions I had sent and he discussed how communication is important when securing a place to live, as well as covering the lease and application form. In the clubhouse, each of the students' questions were answered in detail and on a level the students could relate to. He kept the audience in mind, paid attention to their needs and finished in perfect time for us to return to school. He showed a genuine concern to the students' future housing decisions."

Make a Difference
The team at Chester Village recently volunteered at the Special Olympics. Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. Amber said, "we are trying to help get our residents at Chester Village feel like they are part of the surrounding community and being involved". Being involved within your community, today!
Chester Village plans to attend the Anthem Lemon Aid event on July 15th, 16th and 17th. The event is to help support and raise funds for pediatric cancer and will benefit Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU and Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters.

The Industry Lives Here
The National Apartment Association (NAA) hosted their 2016 Conference & Exposition in San Francisco at the Moscone Convention Center. The marketing team had an unparalleled opportunity to learn, network, and help grow the company. NAA had some excellent keynote speakers - NFL Hall of Famer and TV personality, Michael Strahan; the stars of HGTV's "Fixer Upper", Chip and Joanna Gaines; and Founder and CEO of DonorsChoose.org, Charles Best. The Conference and Exposition held over 50 educational courses that showcased the strength, growth, and unity of the multifamily industry. The marketing team is excited to share with the site teams on what they learned and share the industry trends of 2016. The Franklin Johnston Group looks forward to next year's conference in Atlanta!

Greenwich Village did a Summer Food Drive for their residents and had a great contribution towards donations.
