Happy Canada Day everybody!
Rain put a damper on a lot of the Canada Day Festivities and various fireworks celebrations but Superintendent Donny Valdock (and myself) were thrilled to wake up Saturday morning to an emerald green glow from our fairways and greens. We hope someday Dragonfly Golf Links will have an automated irrigation system but for now Donny resorts to getting up shortly after 2am, hops in a work cart with some sprinkler heads, and manually waters the golf course three hours before the rest of the staff arrive at 6am. So anytime we get a decent amount of rain it means that Donny gets to "sleep in" till around 5am. Rest, that is clearly, well deserved!
As many of you may know, Dragonfly Golf Links has a wide variety of tees that suit players of all skill levels. We have our Championship Blue Tees that play 6,670 yards, and our new
Tee it Forward tees play 3,500 yards, not to mention four separate tee choices of yardages in between. Sod was recently laid on six of the "brand new" tee decks on our Tee it Forward tees. I am happy to say that they will be open for play this coming weekend! The NEW tees are awesome, and blend into the existing layout as though they had been there since the inception of Dragonfly Golf Links. They are specifically intended to cater to golfers who do not hit the ball a long distance, but still want to feel like they have a reasonable chance at making a par - or even better, a birdie!
Our Men's Intersectional Team will be competing in the K division of the one-day OVGA event on July 10
th. Qualifiers from Dragonfly include Jonah O'Connor, Chris McClure, Jesse Riopelle, Chad Thompson, Billy Karras, Michel Levesque, Jack Quinn, Kris Barrie, Patrick Neville, James Miller and Mike Riopelle. Team Dragonfly will be taking on the host club from Nationview, Roanoke, and Lombard Glen. Best wishes Lads! May you be the "Klass" of K division!
In what could be considered one of the weirdest Mays in recent history Dragonfly
had no hole in ones! June however was a different story with Garry Carty getting an ace on #18 and John Henry Comman
da on #7. Way to go gents!

Dragonfly Junior Golf camps get underway starting July 4th. I am happy to say that this one (the first session) is sold out!
There are still a few spots left for the second camp starting July 11th.
The Junior Golf Camp includes instruction on:
- Golf Swing
- Short Game
- Golf Etiquette
- Golf Course Play
- Good Sportsmanship
- Some other non-golf activities

Club Championship weekend is Saturday, July 30th - Sunday, July 31st. Registration is in the Pro Shop! It's not too late to get a handicap going for you to be able to compete for net prizes. Flights will be dependent on the number of participants.

DRAGONFLY LOYALTY POINTS

At Dragonfly Golf Links we appreciate your business and are happy to offer you our Loyalty Points program (
Dragonfly Loyalty Points
) where our points never expire and no card is required.
You will accumulate one DFLP (Dragonfly Loyalty Point) for every dollar you spend at the course (food, beverages, product or golf).
How do I accumulate points?
The first time you book a tee time or come to play at Dragonfly Golf Links, our awesome staff build your customer profile that includes your name, phone number, email address, etc.
Each time you make a purchase at Dragonfly, it's important to identify yourself to our staff so that you continue to earn DFLP.
At the point of purchase, DFLPs will be added to your profile and your total points (to date) will be printed on your receipt.
Again, it is important to make sure that we are adding transactions to YOUR profile. As an example, if you let your friend pay for your golf, and you pay him, your loyalty points will be awarded to his profile.
How Do I Check My Balance?
To check your DFLP balance, you can visit or call the Pro Shop or check the total DFLPs printed on your last receipt.
How Do I Redeem My DFLPs?
You can redeem your DFLPs by simply asking to redeem them when you check into the Pro Shop.
What Can I Get With My DFLPs?
Points can be used to pay for anything from green fees, power and pull cart rentals, golf club rentals, range balls and select food items. You can also use your DFLPs for up to 50% on Pro Shop soft good items.
* DFLPs can not to be used in conjunction with regular sale items or for alcoholic beverages.
Are there other things I can redeem points for?
Yes. Dragonfly offers terrific value by allowing you to purchase certain merchandise items using a combination of cash and DFLPs.
Here are some of the rewards that you can redeem your DFLPs for:
- 200 points = 9 hole green fee
- 400 points = 18 hole green fee
- 300 points = 1/2 cart rental
- 600 points = full cart rental
- 200 points = golf club rental
- 50 points = large bucket range balls
