Paw Care Tips for Dogs
Your
dog's feet sure are made for walking, but did you know they are also made for protecting? Pads provide extra cushioning to help protect bones and joints from shock, provide insulation against extreme weather, aid walking on rough ground and help protect tissue deep within the paw. With all that work to do, it's no wonder your pooch's paws often take a bit of a beating. Keep a spring in your pet's step with these top 10 paw care tips.

Daisy Claussen
|
This past November, we welcomed Tabby Claussen and her sweet Miniature Schnauzer, Daisy, to New Team Orientation. The team became members and began visiting on a regular basis. Recently, I received the letter below.
Dear Lynne,
I wish we were going to be here to attain a Master's certification because we would love to be visiting the children at A.I. DuPont hospital. Our move to Chicago is happening in 2 weeks, so we are busy getting packed up. We have so enjoyed being a part of PAWS here and hope that we will continue to visit folks there that need a furry friend.
Thank you so much for all of the training and encouragement that we have received during our brief time with PAWS for People.
Best regards,
Tabby and Daisy Claussen
It is hard to see old and new members move on from PAWS whether it be taking a break from visiting or a move out of the area. We thank all of our past members for the time and love they have shared. We will miss you, Tabby & Daisy. Thanks for being part of PAWS.

Shining Stars |

Pat and her lovely Airdale Terrier, Winston, have been PAWS members for less than a year but are very involved in many different areas. In addition to assisting at new member trainings, Pat & Winston visit at Beebe Medical Center and Cadia Renaissance. They also just started working with adults with special needs at two different sites - KSI in Milford and Delaware Mentor in Millsboro. What a great first year - and what a great team!

Eileen and her therapy companion, Petey (a mixed breed love bug), are a busy pair. They have regularly scheduled visits at
Jenner's Pond Retirement Community
, the
Newark Free Library
, and during the school year,
Gauger-Cobbs Middle School
. This year, Eileen created a picture book for the students they visit in an autistic support class featuring Petey's favorite activities and visits to the classroom. What a great team!
