elcome to the 2016 second quarter issue of One ELLE of a Newsletter - the ELLE Foundation's ePublication that is your source for information on the Foundation, ELLE's Kids and our events.
Dean and I have just returned from the truly inspirational annual conference of the Association of Wish Granting Organizations at Give Kids the World in Orlando, Florida. After attending their many workshops and sessions, and networking with other principals of wish giving organizations, I can truly say that the commitment in the wish-granting universe runs deep and strong.
Give Kids the W
orld (GKTW) is an all-inclusive village where wish granting organizations from around the world can send their sponsored wish children. The wish granting organizations are responsible for the nominal GKTW fee, flights, gr
ound
transportation, car rental & spending money. A stay at GKTW includes complimentary access to local theme parks, special GKTW events, meals at the village and unlimited ice cream.
The ELLE Foundation is honored to be part of the GKTW family.
As Orlan
do comes out of the darkness created by the heartless actions of one man - light shines from Give Kids the World as the hearts and souls of wish granting organizations gather. We were there to learn and share our experiences. But most importantly we realized that we are so fortunate to have the support of our family, friends and community.

Martin - One ELLE of a Family Reunion
Meet Martin, a 17 year old from Iowa City, IA, who is battling a recurrence of a peripheral nerve shealth tumor. Jake's wish is to escape the world of hospitals, doctors and treatments and sail away on a cruise with his family.

Aniyah - One ELLE of a WaterPark Experience
Meet Aniyah, a 4 year old from Greensboro, NC who is battling DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma). Aniyah's wish is to leave stress at home and focus on family with a special trip to Great Wolf Lodge
