Great Reviews and a Carbonell Recommendation for Broadway Bound!
Part three of Neil Simon's acclaimed autobiographical trilogy finds Eugene and his older brother Stanley trying to break into show business as professional comedy writers, while coping with their parents' break-up and eventual divorce. When their material is broadcast on the radio for the first time, the family is upset to hear a thinly-veiled portrait of themselves played for laughs.
Directed by Carbonell Award-winner Michael Leeds.

August 5 - 21
William Shakespeare's tale of order and disorder, reality and appearance, and above all - love - is universally acknowledged to be one of his most beloved and enduring works.
The moonlit groves of A Midsummer Night's Dream have charmed audiences for centuries, but in this version of Shakespeare's beloved comedy, Evening Star Productions and Sol Children Theatre come together to bring the play's romance, magic and mayhem into the hallways of an '80s high school. In true John Hughes-like fashion, four young lovers from Athens High are caught in a tangled lover's quarrel. Just when things couldn't get more complicated, some royals, amateur actors and faeries get thrown into the mix, making the comical web of affairs even more impossible to unknot. Featuring a talented cast of youth and adult actors, this whimsical production will bring new life to the chaos and comedy of one of the Bard's most popular works.

Summer Theatre Fest 2016 The South Florida Theatre League Invites patrons to attend
Free Play Readings
Every Monday Evening
through August
The Theatre League's Summer Theatre Fest has become an integral part of South Florida's cultural landscape, and in its fourth year South Florida audiences will once again have the opportunity to see theatre for free, and check out new plays in development by South Florida playwrights. The program's continued and growing success over of past three years has indicated to the League that theatre patrons are ready and willing to try new theatrical experiences, and even cross county lines to do it.
Every Monday from June 1 to August 31 (with the exception of July 4) a South Florida Theatre League member theatre/theatre company will host a reading of a new play by a local playwright.
Playwrights range from established local favorites, including Carbonell Award-winners and nominees, to emerging talents, with plays vastly ranging in subject matter and style.
For more details about Summer Theatre Fest 2016, including a synopsis of each reading, curtain times, and location details, please visit

Coming Soon!
September 8 - 25
Pigs do Fly Productions is on the move! The company's September production, Larry Parr's Invasion of Privacy will run from September 8th through September 25th at The Abyss Stage Wilton Manors.
Invasion of Privacy
is based on the lawsuit brought against Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings (The Yearling) by her neighbor, Zelma Cason. Cason contended that Rawlings' description of 'her' character in Rawlings' book Cross Creek made her out to be a 'hussy' and sued the author for invasion of privacy (the courts of the time found libel to be too ambiguous). It was a cause of action that had never been argued in a Florida court. "That was a time when a woman lawyer was a novelty in the South, and man's moonshine was nobody's business, and an invasion-of-privacy lawsuit was something of a brand-new issue, which eventually became a popular reason for going to court." Jack Lyons, Theatre & Film Critic
