Dear Friends,
Please join us tonight at 5 pm for worship and 6 pm for a vegetarian feast in honor of Jesus and Mary Magdalene and the love they taught and shared. Jack Angelo in his brilliant new book, The Healing Wisdom of Mary Magdalene, suggests we enter into relationship with the Gospel of John as we would a dream. As a dream worker, I welcome this wonderful invitation. We will consider the first of "seven signs" or the seven miracle stories in

the Gospel of John, beginning tonight as we honor the Feast Day of Mary Magdalene. Jack Angelo suggests that Mary Magdalene wrote the Gospel of John and the "seven signs" of this gospel point to seven keys to personal transformation and healing."Mary Magdalene teaches that the state of imbalance is our problem; thus the healing of our relationship with the Earth and Nature depends on healing our relationship with our selves and each other. To begin the healing process, the feminine energy has to be restored to its rightful place and brought into balance with the masculine." (p.5)
The wedding in John 2:1-11, like the Gospel of Thomas teaches about making the two one, (Log. 22) "The Bridal Chamber is the metaphor for reconnection with the sacred by making the two energy streams one. ...Thus, the Bridal Chamber (the heart center) is the divine womb in which a new being is conceived." (p. 107)
Come partake in holy commune where we celebrate the miracle where water becomes wine and wine enters into our bodies where we become one with the Christ-Sophia. We will serve seven different kinds of bread this evening, to represent all the diverse peope of hte world that are loved adn included in God's table. Jesus and Mary Magdalene taught that we are one. Woman are welcome and respected as equals as well and the story of the Samaritan wom
an in the Gospel of John is a part of "Sign One" that teaches about the problem of segregation. While we continue to experience racism, sexism and so many prejudices we in the modern world we are reminded that these were also problems, 2,000 years ago. Jesus is served water by a Samaritan woman and Samartiatin people were persecuted during Jesus time. Any form of segregation cannot be included in Jesus and Magdalene's teaching about our Oneness and the sacred divinity within all people and life forms on earth.
"......Yeshua did not come to planet earth as a lone voice with a single message. The original message was delivered by Jesus and Mary Magdalene together. They were the embodiment of the two energy streams of Creation--the masculine and the feminine--representing and living the sacred union of these energies. Their message was that we each have our own inner messiah--the presence of Oneness within, in the form of soul. We do not need
an outer one. Sign One tells us that the first step to reveling the inner messiah is to unite the two energy streams of the feminine and the masculine with ourselves--whatever our gender--to realize that we are all One, and to let that realization help us deal with all the dualities outside us." ( p. 101-102)
We will celebrate Mary Magdalene and Jesus and the holy relationships of love in us and amongst us. It does not seem to be an accident that she has emerged in this time of ecologic crisis. Every spiritual crisis is also an invitation for our spiritual grow. We have new exciting biblical scholarship, newly found Gnostic gospels, and our hearts are newly opening and are ready to learn her wisdom teaches. Join us this Sunday worship services and dinner gathering in our new home church in Rancho Penasquitos area in San Diego and next Sunday July 31st for a "Healing and Anointing Worship with Mary Magdalene"

July 24
Jesus and Mary Magdalene's Vegetarian Feast Day. The Catholic church celebrates Saint Mary Magdalene once a year and her feast day this year is July 22.
She is the woman who was present during Jesus' ministry, including the crucifixion and the resurrection. We will have a vegetarian dinner party in honor of our teachers, Jesus and Mary Magdalene. The early church always served a meal with worship and we are following in this holy tradition in our new home Church for our Common Home. Jesus and Mary Magdalene made everyone welcome at the table and this the religious practice we follow. We will also reflect on vegetarianism as a way to contribute to the healing of the earth and a way to teach about sharing our resources with everyone equally on the planet. We do not want to contribute to the cruelty of animals in our current animal raising and slaughtering practices. As we share in preparing our communal meal we will intentionally make it in love. Collectively we will pray over our food as we give thanks for the earth who provides us with physical nourishment. Please bring a vegetarian side dish to share or anything to contribute to our salad bar. We will provide lettuce and other offerings from our organic Church for our Common Home vegetable garden for the salad bar.
July 31
"Healing and Anointing Worship with Mary Magdalene"
"
Dreams, Visions and Anointing Ritual "
Mary Magdalene had a vision that was to change history. She was the first to see the resurrected Christ. In the ancient world people fully embraced the sacred phenomena and power of dreams and visions and sacred rituals to access the holy. It is past time we celebrate the traditions of the early church where dreams, visions and rituals were honored as portals to God.This service will invite dream and vision sharing and close with a healing anointing ritual.
Monthly Dream Group July 31, 3:30-5 pm immediately before worship!
