Our Mission:

We are called to be disciples of Christ,

revealing His Life, Love and Light to the World.

Our Vision:

St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church is a radically welcoming, inclusive faith family - sharing and teaching the love of Jesus Christ through our worship, actions and outreach: transforming ourselves and the world.
THIS WEEKEND
Serving Hearts - Groups Serving Neighbors
Saturday, July 23, 9 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Here is a chance to help serve our neighbors while meeting new friends: Serving Hearts is a group of St. Bart's parishioners who go out into the neighborhood to do little fix-it or yard clean-up jobs for those who could use some help. We do some light work together and then share a meal. No special skills or tools required - just a serving heart! So come and join us for our next project. For more info contact: Kara Miller or Janice Miller or 858-538-0065.

Now's your chance to sing in the St. Bart's choir, even it's just for one week. Every Sunday during summer you have the opportunity to bring your singing voice out of the shower and into the 10:15 a.m. service. Be in the choir seats by 9:45 a.m. for a short rehearsal. All are welcome!

Sunday, July 24, following 10:15 a.m. service
All are welcome, especially those new to St. Bart's, to join Rev. Bill Zettinger and Karen Becerra on a short tour of the St. Bart's campus. Do you know your narthex from your vestibule? Have you seen the education building and music library? Did you know we have a beautiful view of the valley from our columbarium and chapel at the top of our hill? Meet us at the altar rail following the 10:15 service and bring your questions!
Cheer on Our Believers!
Sunday, July 24, 1 p.m.

Believers got off to a slow start last Sunday, but came back to score seven runs in the top of the 4th inning and four more in 5th. However, it was not quite enough to surpass St. Michael's. Playing for the Believers today was Bartah Alli, Jennifer Braswell, Diane Covel, Derek Escobar, Jim Grandinetti, Eric Hansen, John Prust, Danny Shao and our newest player David Tremaine. Additionally, we were joined by Chris, Amy and J.J. from St. Gabriel's. The Believers take on Poway Community Church this week at Canyonside Community Park, field 9.
ADULT FAITH EDUCATION
9am FORUM: Why Do We Do That?
The Sermon & The Creed
Sundays, July 24 & 31, 9 a.m., South Parish Hall
Ever wonder why some people make the sign of the cross during worship? Curious about what really changed when we got a new prayer book in 1979? Have you found yourself wondering, what is that tall candle we light at baptisms and funerals, or the long stick that vergers carry at the beginning of the procession? Come explore the answers to these questions - and ask your own! This Sunday we will explore the history and theology behind the Nicene Creed, the Christian statement of faith that we sing or say in worship. All are welcome!
CHILDREN & YOUTH FAITH EDUCATION
Children's Faith Formation Needs You!
The local parish has a critically important role to play in the faith formation of its children. In order to accomplish our goals for the upcoming school year, we are on the lookout for parishioners who might be called to teach or help out in other ways. Our hope is to establish committed teaching teams of 3-4 people who can work together throughout the year in fellowship, lightening each other's loads in the process. What are the qualifications, you ask? Nothing more than an open heart and a desire to grow in faith and support others in their walks of faith.

If you sense that you might be called to help, please contact our Director of Religious Education John Prust or call 858-432-7111 to discern the right fit!
