Table Dedication Event 
With 2015 Turkey Mission Dinner funds, we purchased new tables with attached seating for Hope Café, the community dining hall connected to Hope Ministries' emergency shelter, Bethel Mission.
We are having a table dedication event at Bethel Mission on
Sunday, August 14
, and you are invited! The afternoon will start with a tour of Bethel Mission and a meal at Hope Café and end with a dedication service in the chapel.
4:30-5:30 p.m. Tours of Bethel Mission
5:30-6:00 p.m. Supper at Hope Cafe
6:00-6:30 p.m. Table Dedication in Bethel

A Night with the Gaither Vocal Band
You are invited to "A Night with the Gaither Vocal Band" held at the Des Moines Civic Center on Friday, September 16. Group tickets are available for $24.50 (includes all fees) by signing up at the Welcome Center or by contacting the church office. You may reserve your group ticket with us through Sunday, August 7. Joy Boxes and We Care Kit Bags
The Joy Boxes for Caring Hands Food Pantry and Bidwell Riverside and We Care Kit Bags for the Bethel Mission are ready to be picked in the Narthex. More details can be found in the July Newsletter as well in the boxes and bags. Please return your filled boxes and bags to the church by July 31st.

Baptism Class - Sunday August 7th
Join us on Sunday, August 7th at 9:30 a.m. in the Chapel with Pastor John. This one-session class is to help understand the significance of baptism and to schedule a date. If you have question, please contact the church office at 515-967-2991 or by email to

Meet at the Altoona Aquatic Center at 6:30 p.m. for immersion baptisms followed by swimming at the pool. Free admission. Snacks will be provided. Everyone is invited!

Gluten Free Communion Bread Now Available at the Welcome Center
If you have a gluten allergy or sensitivity we now have gluten free communion bread. On the days when communion will be served, this will be available at the Welcome Center for you to pick up prior to the service.
