Hey guys,

If you missed this Sunday, you not only missed a great service, but also a very special announcement. The good news is the power grid along Freeport Road is getting a much needed tune up. The bad news is that they are all set to do it July 24th, requiring them to turn off the power at places like the RLA from roughly about 9am-1pm. Something else typically happens during that time....our services.

Therefore, and unfortunately, we will not be able to hold our regular services that morning. Serendipitously...or providentially...we already had something planned for that evening. You've probably heard us talk about it: Our Music & Movie Night. We're going to have live music, yard games, and an outdoor movie, all starting at 7pm. Bring family, friends, family's friends, neighbors and things to sit on, and a snack or dessert to share. If you've got a game you want to share, bring that too. Hang out with us over at the Family Retreat Center (1100 Freeport Rd, right next to the RLA). It's going to be a ton of fun.

This might be a great week to finally set up your online giving. If you love to support the great things happening at Discovery and in our community but usually give through those boxes by the door, we'd appreciate it if you'd consider giving online this week. Also, this gives you another great opportunity. Instead of attending services, what if we provided services. Think about maybe doing some yard work for someone in your neighborhood that needs it (make sure to ask them first). Take some PB&J's down to the city. Clean out your closets and take some of your shoes to the Oxford Athletic Club and put them at the drop off location for Clear Thoughts. Take your family to go pick up trash in a local park. You get the idea. Be creative and do something awesome.
