Home for Good

United Way of Greater Williamsburg is pleased to receive a generous $130,000 grant from the Williamsburg Health Foundation to support the United Way Home for Good housing program through June 2017. Home for Good provides case management, rental qualification, and rent/utility subsidies to help precariously housed families stabilize their lives and improve their long-term health and economic outcomes.

Home for Good helps families like Octavia and her children (pictured left) who recently moved in to a Home for Good house after doubling up with family and living in hotels for many months. Octavia and her three children did not have a permanent place to call home. Octavia now lives in a newly re-modeled and freshly painted duplex where she and her children have space to live and a yard to play in. Octavia will work with a Home for Good case manager to stabilize her finances and prepare for a healthier and more stable future for her children.  Learn more about Home for Good .

Come out Friday, July 22 at 5:00 pm to hear Harley Boone and enjoy beers poured by United Way volunteers! Food trucks and the Williamsburg Winery will be onsite selling food and wine.
