CAP's Derby Party
was, quite possibly, even more
fun that last year!
CAP's Derby
took place on May 6th at Ballroom 384. Emcees Scott Spezzano and Sandy Waters of 9
8.9 the Buzz and guest race caller, Tony Calo from Finger Lakes Gaming and Race Track brought a lot of energy to the event!
Generous donors helped raise over $18,000 to
help waiting youth find
adoptive homes.

Save the Date: 11/4/16, CAP's 10th Annual Heart Gallery
Save the date for CAP's Heart Gallery Luncheon and morning institute with Keynote Speaker Dr. John Seita.
Dr. Seita's experience as a former foster youth and personal research into evidence-based practice will
help professionals and families connect with at-risk youth. We invite you to Dr. Seita's meaningful presentation and to view CAP's Heart Gallery photos of waiting children. The institute will equip attendees with skills to specifically address the truama faced by foster youth.
When:
9:30am Institute, 11:30am Luncheon Friday, 11/4/2016.
Where:
Staybridge Suites, (Rapids Room on lower level) 1000 Genesee St, Rochester, NY 14611
Cost:
Institute: $30pp, Luncheon: $60 per person (2 for $100). Early bird Luncheon discount of $10 if you reserve tickets before October 11th. Additional $10 discount if reserving both the Institute and Luncheon together.
Purchase a Luncheon table for $400 or sponsor a child or adoptive family for $100.

Sign Up Now for Heart Gallery Photos!
CAP is hosting a Heart Gallery photo shoot on 7/22 for waiting children as well as families who have adopted in the last year. There is still time to sign up to have a free professional photo taken that will be used in this year's Heart Gallery display. If you cannot make it to Rochester on 7/22, contact us to schedule an individual photograph at a time and location that works for you before 9/1/2016 to participate in this year's Heart Gallery.

CAP to Participate in Photofinish 5k:

Children Awaiting Parents will have a team in the annual George Eastman House Photo Finish 5k this year. If you are interested in running or walking to support our cause, register as part of CAP's team on the George Eastman website, once registration is available.
"Runners, walkers, and people using wheelchairs are welcome! Starting and ending at George Eastman House, the scenic
3.1-mile course takes participants past a variety of other community landmarks, including the Memorial Art Gallery, the American Red Cross, School of the Arts, Visual Studies Workshop, Rochester Museum & Science Center, and Strasenburgh Planetarium. You can join the fun as a participant or donor." -

CAP is happy to announce that Texas has recently agreed to photolist some of their waiting youth on CAP's adoption photolisting. More waiting children will now have a better chance of connecting with permanent families!

New CAP Website On the Way!
We are excited to announce that a generous grant from the August Foundation will make it possible for us to make significant improvements to our website!
Our website is a powerful recruitment tool and our primary method for finding new adoptive families for foster youth. Our website hosts our waiting child photolisting that features profiles and narratives of children in need of homes. Interested families can learn more about the adoption process and inquire to be considered as an adoptive resource for the children on our site. Our photolisting was built on the belief that visible children stand a much better chance at being adopted than invisible children.
We graciously thank the August Foundation for helping us host a web site that will be a welcoming and supportive place for all our clients.
