July Luncheon Wrap-Up
Re: Sound Transit ST3 Plan
For those of you who missed the July Chamber Luncheon, speaker Luke Lamon of Sound Transit talked about the ballot measure called Sound Transit 3 (ST3).
Here are a few highlights:
522 BRT will provide a reliable connection for cities along the north end of Lake Washington to light rail at I-5 and NE 145th. Buses will operate every 10 minutes (up to 19 hours of service Monday through Saturday; 17 hours on Sundays).
* Along the corridor three 300-stall parking garages will be built; one each in Kenmore, Bothell, and Lake Forest Park
* With completion of the business access & transit (BAT) lanes along SR 522 in Bothell and Lake Forest Park, buses will be able to bypass congestion along SR 522
* The BRT line will also provide a connection to the I-405 BRT system at NE 195th and I-405
I-405 BRT will provide connections to regional ST Express service and light rail in downtown Bellevue and Tukwila.
* Three stations on I-405 in Bothell (Canyon Park, NE 195th Street to connect with SR 522 BRT, Brickyard park and ride)
* Frequent service: 10 minutes in peak periods/15 minutes off-peak
