Surf  is a lovely semi-circular shawl with waves of eyelets reminiscent of beach time and a lace border that is worked along with the body of the shawl.. It is a perfect pattern f or long gradient yarns such as Cascade Heritage Wave or Viking Nordlys and is a good first lace project.  Cast on with Joan at  3:00  pm on  August 8 , and continue through the week to get a good start on this  perfect accessory.  The class is free with purchase of yarn and pattern.

Jessica will be in the house on August 13! Ready for a spinning lesson? She is available for spindle and wheel spinning instruction, but please let us know in advance. We have a wheel and spindles available for lesson time.  Jessica will bring her trunk show on this date.  You won't want to miss this!

In the height of summer gardening season are you feeling  Herbaceous ?  Knit up these lovely fingerless mitts in a hurry, and explore some of our lo
cal yarns along the way. Base Camp or Tweed Sock from A Yarn Well Spun would be perfect for this pattern. Joan will get you started on  Monday, August 15 at 4:00 , continuing on  Thursday, August 18th at 4:00 . The class will repeat on  Tuesday August 23 , continuing on  Friday, August 26 , both at  11:00 am.

Noro yarn has some of the most beautiful colorways of any yarn we stock.  Join Judy in making the blanket poncho featured in the newest Noro Magazine. Choose Noro Kureopatora or Noro Shinryoku yarn and size 8 or 9 circular needles, 24 "  or 32".  Class fee is $30 and does not include the yarn, which can be purchased prior to class. Start now and you will have this finished just in time for cooler weather this fall.  Tuesday and Friday, August 16th and 19th at 1 pm.

Spinners!

Wheels keep on turning......so bring your wheel - or spindle - and add a new twist to your life on  Saturday, August 6  and again on August 27 . These are spin in days, a chance to visit with like-minded individuals, have a laugh, and maybe pick up a new tip. All are welcome,  2:00 - 5:00 .

Therapy
August 16th, (3rd Tuesday)
5 to 7 pm

Everyone needs fiber therapy, so bring your current project or start a new one. Feel free to bring snacks and we will just kick back and eat, laugh, have a good time, and hopefully do a little knitting and/or crocheting.  You will be amazed at how much fun you can have at "Therapy."

If you are in need of more "Therapy," please drop in any Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday afternoon and knit or crochet with us.  Friends are always welcome.

No Child Cold/No Child Hungry in Berea needs crocheted flowers -- simple ones are okay -- to  d ress up  hand-knit hats that have been made for the Family Resource Centers at all Berea schools? There are about 40 hats -- any color flowers would be fine, between 2 and 4 inches in diameter, probably 3/hat (so approximately 120 flowers needed).
