Concord

Hillcrest Creek Cleanup

When: Saturday, April 25th, cleanup begins at 7:45 AM

Where: Hillcrest Park, 2060 Olivera Road, Concord

 

A short morning of projects will include a creek cleanup and general cleanup of park grounds.

Clayton

 

Clayton Cleans Up 

                                                     

When: Saturday, April 25 from 9 AM to 12 PM

Where: Clayton City Hall

 

Rain or shine, come stuff bright orange garbage bags with trash and weeds from your favorite parks and trails. Double-dog dare the rain to fall before you finish chowing down on hamburgers and hot dogs. The Clean Up is also to celebrate Earth Day, so see what local clubs and organizations at the event have to say about making our corner of the planet a better place to live, like growing drought tolerant plants, making recycled art and exploring Mount Diablo. Pleasant Hill

 

Grayson Creek Cleanup

 

WhenSunday, April 19th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Where: Meet at the Second Street Bridge by the Country Square shopping center (by Big Five) in Pleasant Hill.

Celebrate Earth Day at Diablo Valley College

 

When: Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 11-2 PM

Where: DVC Commons Area, 321 Golf Club Rd, Pleasant Hill

Earth Day Green Movie Night

The Pleasant Hill Chamber of Commerce Green Business 

Committee invites you to participate of this FREE event to celebrate Earth Day.

 

Come by and enjoy refreshments and appetizer at the screening of "Fern Gully," a film in which the magical inhabitants of a rainforest fight to save their homes, threatened by logging and pollution.

Walnut Creek

 

Kaiser Walnut Creek Earth Day 

 

When: Tuesday, April 21st from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM

Where: Kaiser Permanente Walnut Creek Medical Center, 1425 S. Main Street, Walnut Creek

 

Walnut Creek Downtown Creek Cleanup

 

When: Saturday, May 9th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Where: meet at the gazebo at Civic Park in Walnut Creek

John Muir Birthday-Earth Day Celebration

 

When: Saturday, April 18th, 2015 from 10 AM to 4 PM

Where: John Muir National Historic Site, 4202 Alhambra Avenue at Highway 4 in Martinez, California

 

John Muir inspired people all over the world to "keep close to nature's heart." In this spirit, we celebrate John Muir's April 21st birthday at his former home, along with Earth Day, which brings us closer to knowing our planet and practical ways to help it thrive. Bring the family for fun-filled activities and entertainment! Food and beverages are available for purchase. This event will be held rain or shine-dress for the weather. 

 

Lafayette Earth Day Festival

 

When: Sunday, April 26th

Where: Lafayette Library & Learning Center, 3491 Mt Diablo Blvd, Lafayette, CA 94549

 

From 11am - 3pm, the Lafayette Library & Learning Center will host local businesses and organizations all dedicated to a more sustainable lifestyle. At 2:55pm, members from the Lafayette Creek Committee will lead a hike and discuss fish, wildlife, plants, hydrology, engineering, and other topics. Bring good walking shoes and some water. This 3/4 mile hike is flat, on pavement, and should take about an hour. All ages are welcome. Meet at the Creek Committee Booth at 2:55pm.
