MN Teamsters Service Bureau receives 2016 funding to assist laid off workers
The Minnesota Job Skills Partnership Board, responsible for the oversight and distribution of state Dislocated Worker Program funding, on June 28, 2016 awarded maximum small layoff grant funds of $395,177
to three agencies working with Dislocated Workers. Based upon performance in 2015, the MN Teamsters Service Bureau, a nonprofit agency located on University Avenue at the Prospect Park Green Line Station,
received one of these three top funding awards.
The MN Teamsters Service Bureau has been a top performing provider of Dislocated Worker Services for over 20 years. Staff are committed to getting clients back to an equal or better position in the workforce.
The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development's Dislocated Worker Program pays for career services (assessment, counseling, resume assistance, support, training and placement).
Small layoff funds are intended for individuals who have received notice of a layoff from a company. Eligibility is closely aligned with eligibility for unemployment insurance.
Individuals interested in this program can call (612) 676-3700 today to sign up for an information session and enrollment in a program that can significantly change the economic prospects for a person seeking
reemployment.
