Heating Up in July with ACEnet!
ACEnet Recycles and Composts

An estimated 33.2 billion tons of food waste - 95 percent of America's total food waste - ended up in landfills and combustion facilities in 2013, according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Alternatively, food waste can naturally decompose into a rich fertilizer compost if it's given steadily turning, soil, water and a few months' time.
ACEnet is doing its part! Here at ACEnet we are proud to offer our clients and tenants options for recycling and composting, which is especially important at our Food Ventures Center.

Athens Hocking Recycling Centers offer these services, along with waste removal to residential homes and businesses in Albany, Amesville, Athens, New Marshfield, The Plains, Chauncey, Glouster, Jacksonville, Trimble, Logan, and Haydenville. Click for full list of pickup routes. For more information on the Athens Hocking Recycling Centers, the areas they serve & the services they offer please visit their website.

ACEnet Featured Tenant: The Athens Village

The Athens Village is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded to give Athens Countians  age 60+ the confidence  and practical ways to live their lives to the fullest in their own  homes. Organized and managed entirely by its members, it's  one of a growing number of such groups across the country with the common goal of enabling senior citizens to age well in their own homes. Members serve on the board, make decisions, volunteer, and shape the future directions of services and programs.

The Athens Village offers many services to its members, including free home safety
assessments each year and also home
maintenance help as needed each year at no extra cost to members. Members pay only for any supplies or equipment (purchased at a discount by the coordinator from   Lowe's). Volunteers and members help provide transportation to other members for trips to the grocery or doctor's office, and run errands for each other. They also provide discounted commercial transportation information, home health services information, technical computer/internet/smartphone assistance, coffee hours & social gatherings.
