DHARMA PATH 200-hour Teacher Training
This year our Opening Circle will be a Party in the Park. We'll have a meet and greet brunch at Hoover Park on Cowper Street from 9 to 12 followed by two hours of asana and methodology
with John Berg
from 12:30 to 2:30.
Will you be there?
Our
Dharma Path 200-hour Teacher Training
is one of the best in the Bay Area. Here's why:
Our Teachers:
John Berg, Ben Thomas, Anirudh Shastri, Louis Jackson, Hillary Easom, Amy Rogg, Devin Begley, Lindsay Amrein, Mimm Patterson and
Brandon Thompson.
Quite simply, they don't come better than this. These people teach from the heart. They're devoted to their practice. And, from the moment you enroll in Dharma Path,
they are with you
. Other programs fly in 'celebrity teachers' for a weekend and then they're gone. Our faculty are available throughout the program and continue to be available following your graduation.
Our Curriculum:
From Day One you're teaching.
If that's not enough, you'll receive in-depth instruction in methodology, alignment principles and adjustments, innovative anatomy instruction, heart-felt yogic philosophy discussions, modules on pre-natal yoga, yoga for special populations, workshops for discovering your teaching voice and how to teach with integrity.
Our Post-Graduation Programs:
Samyama supports its Dharma Path graduates long after the 11-week program ends. Our Seeds of Bhakti program offers you the opportunity to hone your teaching skills in a public forum with follow-up critiques from peers and mentors. There're opportunities to assist in regularly scheduled Samyama classes taught by Dharma Path faculty. And we're always proud to support our Dharma Path graduates by offering them their own classes to teach - just ask Michelle, Lynn, Nicole and Anfisa.
If you feel called to teach
or if you're called to deepen your practice enroll in
Samyama's Dharma Path 200-hour Teacher Training.
For more information about the program visit our
website
and click the "teacher training" button and then take a look at the video messages from our Dharma Path faculty.

Featured Classes:
Nicole Dydasco's
Shakti Reset
Tuesday & Thursday from 8:15-9:15 AM
How does the work feel in your body? The movement. The breath. How does it really feel? Nicole's sequencing builds heat, strength and internal balance with a grounding asana flow that allows you to experience the practice with comfort and ease.
Nicole is a recent graduate of Samyama's Dharma Path Teacher Training.
She says this about the program:
"Dharma Path encouraged me from day one to cultivate my inner teacher; to own my space and to never lose sight of my own practice. Samyama continues to provide constant support. I am very honored and proud to be a part of the Samyama family."
Nicole's intention as a teacher is to cultivate the inner connection between mind, body and breath. Of her own practice, she says,
"As someone who suffered with anxiety, my practice has helped me find a sense of stillness and ease I didn't think was possible. I would love to help others facing similar inner demons."
Michelle Booth and Lynn Heinrichs's
Mid-Day Vinyasa
Tuesday & Thursday from 11:30-12:30
Stepping into Midday Vinyasa for the first time will make you want to return again! Students love the refreshing, invigorating yet grounding practice.
Michelle and Lynn have the unique experience of team-teaching this class.
This offers the opportunity for more hands-on assists and attention for students. "Some days," Lynn says, "I start the class and Michelle carries the second half and on other days one of us will lead the whole class while the other offers assists and practices along with the class." Michelle and Lynn agree, "We manage the studio together, teach together and also play together outside the studio...we enjoy the energy we share and intend that our students will, too!"
Michelle and Lynn are also recent graduates of Dharma Path. Lynn says this about the program,
"Dharma Path teacher training has so many strengths. It prepares students to teach by helping us find our 'yoga voice'; it builds confidence by offering substantial teaching opportunities and it provides consistent access to program mentors. My graduating class of 2015 was so supportive and connected. We shared a beautiful, synergistic energy as we completed our 200-hours of study. Those type of yoga experiences imprint in a teacher and I find myself naturally sharing that passion with my classes now."

Studio Etiquette
|
|
The asana practice might end with "namaste" but yoga is a practice that moves with us throughout our day.
Continue your practice by respecting and remembering these simple values:
- Please keep open containers outside of the studio - closed containers of water in the studio are fine
- Please store your shoes at the shoe rack downstairs or in the cubbies outside of our main studio - do not wear shoes in the studio
- Refrain from wearing fragrances in class
- Store personal belongings like book bags and purses in the cubbies behind the main studio's textured wall
- If you are coming into class a few minutes late please be as quiet as possible
- Keep phones on 'silent' during class (better yet, turn them off)
Returning yoga props mindfully
allows us to stay present in our practice.
Please fold blankets, stack blocks and replace bolsters with considered care for the next class coming into the studio.
