This past weekend, Chamber employees had a great time at the Toledo Air Show. We had the opportunity to meet the Golden Knights on Friday just moments after they landed at the Toledo Express Airport, and we had a great time volunteering on Sunday morning.

Ohio's First Outdoor Refreshment Area - Grand Opening in Toledo

Adams Street is Ohio's first "outdoor refreshment area" in a metropolitan city, which means that with an approved cup in a specific district, patrons can actually walk outside of a participating establishment carrying an alcoholic beverage. Following a soft opening over the past six weeks, The Village on Adams is expanding operation of the district to seven days a week during their Grand Opening this weekend.

Toledo City Council Meeting Today, Lead-Based Paint

At its regular meeting scheduled for 4:00 p.m. today, Toledo City Council will likely vote on Ordinance 226-16, which would create requirements for lead-based paint in single-family and duplex rental properties constructed prior to 1978. Such properties would be required to obtain a certificate by passing an inspection and paying a $45 filing fee. The ordinance does not require full abatement of lead paint, but rather using practices to reduce exposure. Penalties are included in the ordinance for non-compliance.
