Dental Clinic Renovation Complete

We are excited to announce that CFC's newly renovated dental clinic is up and running! After two weeks of hard work, we are proud to show off the finished product. The renovation provides more space for both dental staff and clients.

Salsa Night Success
"Beats and Brews" benefit night well attended

On June 15, the Charlottesville Free Clinic, Charlottesville Salsa Club, and the Central Virginia Preventive Cardiovascular Nursing Association hosted an event called "Beats and Brews" at World of Beer. This fun event raised about $1,300 for the Free Clinic, while staff and other supporters of CFC got to let loose and enjoy a night of dancing, music, and fun. Robin Passantino, an RN at UVA and a member of the Charlottesville Salsa Club, helped organize the event. Thank you to Robin and all those who participated!

UIP Reflection
Thoughts from one of CFC's University Internship Program (UIP) students from UVA

During my time here at Charlottesville Free Clinic, I have gained insight into a lot of things that I did not know went into running a clinic. I helped update databases, I got a glimpse into grant writing, I interacted directly with patients, and I learned how to conduct audits. As someone who hopes to enter the health care field, my time at the free clinic has been extremely valuable and interesting to me.

Healthcare Appreciation Night
Celebrating with the Charlottesville Tom Sox

Aetna sponsored a Healthcare Appreciation Night on June 29 at the Charlottesville Tom Sox baseball game. Free tickets to the game were available to CFC staff, as well as a delicious hospitality tent catered by Red Hub Food Company. Staff members enjoyed taking some time to relax and socialize at the game, even if their cheering efforts weren't enough to lead the Tom Sox to a win.
