Thank you for your support of Hispanic Unity. We hope you enjoy learning about our partners' and funders' exciting initiatives.

Florida Blue  and the Florida Blue Foundation are multi-year supporters of Hispanic Unity of Florida's (HUF) Te Ayudo (I Help You) program. Te Ayudo aims to reduce healthcare disparities and increase healthcare access for uninsured and underinsured individuals and families by providing education about the Affordable Care Act, enrolling individuals in Qualified Health Plans and helping insured individuals establish primary and preventative care.

Last year, Te Ayudo connected 504 individuals to health insurance, including almost half of whom purchased policies through the Affordable Care Act's Healthcare Exchange with an annual savings of $1,494,609 in healthcare costs.

The company's philanthropic affiliate, the Florida Blue Foundation, was founded in 2001. The Foundation strategically allocates grants toward philanthropic, community-based solutions through its focus areas and programs that focus on health solutions in the health care system, multicultural and growing populations, and critical issues of affordability, access and quality.

Prevent Cervical Cancer with the Right Test at the Right Time
Screening tests can find abnormal cells so they can be treated before they turn into cancer.
  • The Pap test looks for changes in cells on the cervix that could turn into cancer if left untreated.
  • The human papillomavirus (HPV) test looks for the virus that causes these cell changes.
The only cancer the Pap test screens for is cervical.
HPV is the main cause of cervical cancer. HPV is a very common virus, passed from one person to another during sex. Most people get it, but it usually goes away on its own. If HPV doesn't go away, it can cause cancer.
