What a joy it is to share with you about our time at the Southern Baptist Convention in St. Louis!  Southern Baptist Evangelists from across the nation elected David as their President for the 2016-2017 term, and dear life-long friend, Evangelist Sammy Tippit,  was elected Vice-President.  Under the leadership that David and Sammy will provide for the next several years, we have a chance to make a real difference among our churches in America,

to promote the Office and Work of the Evangelist, and to help revive and restore evangelistic outreach efforts across the nation.  Pray with us as we are already working on strategies for outreach in Phoenix next summer, and in Dallas in 2018!

We are also honored that our pastor, Dr. Ed Young, pastor of Second Baptist Church Houston, has graciously agreed to serve as our group's Pastor Advisor during David's term of office.  We are so grateful for Dr. Young's leadership and support of God-called, vocational evangelists! 
 
One of the main areas where we  are asking God to work is in raising up and equipping for ministry new, young evangelists across the nation. Sadly, the calling to vocational evangelism and the special gifting it requires has been neglected in our churches.  We believe that God is STILL calling evangelists according to Ephesians 4:11-16! 
   
Would you be willing to help us with this?  Is there a young man or young woman you know of who is passionate about sharing the Gospel, who might consider full-time evangelistic ministry as a vocation?  If so, please connect us with that young person, and let us see if we can help get them on the right path, so that they can fulfill their God-given calling!
 
Along with this great responsibility,  we are in great need of prayer and support for the wonderful international opportunities for DSEA this year in Africa, Asia and Latin America.  Thank you so much for your friendship and prayer.  Please know how grateful we are for your partnership in this ministry!

David Stockwell is now in his fiftieth year of proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ as a full-time evangelist. David and his wife, Amy, have had the privilege of ministering internationally in many countries in Africa, Central and South America, Asia and Europe. Together, the Stockwells are committed to the clear, uncompromising communication of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
