For those players who have qualified for the NAPs at the club levelDistrict 4 follows with a district qualifier in October for each flight.

At the district final, both players must have qualified at the club level and must be members of District 4. The NAPs are played in flights as follows: A (Open), B (0-2500), C (0-500 Non-Life Masters). Players can play in any and all flights for which they are eligible and qualified.  The event culminates with the national event at the 2016 Nationals in New Orleans.

    Table Tips: Bidding Boxes

CHOOSING A CALL USING BIDDING BOXES

A player is obligated to choose a call before touching any card in the bidding box. Deliberation while touching the bidding box cards may subject the offending side to the adjustment provisions of 16 (unauthorized information).

A call is considered made when a bidding card is removed from the bidding box and held touching or nearly touching the table or maintained in such a position to indicate that the call has been made.

Decide what you are going to bid before you touch the bidding box to avoid this problem.

    News from Around the Unit

Card Hand on RightMESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

A warm welcome to our new Unit 141 Newsletter editor, Lori Lerner.  Lori needs content in order to run a successful newsletter so if you know something newsworthy from around our unit, drop her a line at
[email protected] .  Club owners, here is a chance for some free publicity for your new games or special events.  And to all the members of Unit 141 - next time you see Allison Brandt, please thank her for her many years of service on the newsletter.

Our I/N program continues to be extremely popular: two of our three I/N Sectionals were sell outs, proving once again the need to get your entries in early at these ever popular events.  Speaking of our I/N program, let's all give a hand to Bruce Lang who has done an outstanding job with the I/N community but is now moving to Florida to escape those harsh Philly winters.  And if anyone knows someone capable of filling Bruce's shoes, please drop me a line at  [email protected] as we are actively searching for a replacement.

    The Buxmont Bridge Club
