Lions Pilot Program
You may have heard that the Boy Scouts of America has extended a special invitation to councils for a pilot program, allowing this fall's kindergarten aged boys to join Cub Scouts! Congratulations to the following Packs that will be participating in the programming with Great Lakes Field Service Council!

ACTION NEEDED FROM ALL CHIPPEWA CUB SCOUT PACKS, BOY SCOUT TROOPS, AND VENTURING CREWS: If you have not done so, please send a copy your most recent unit roster to our District Commissioner Joe Frey at mrjpfrey@yahoo.com, and Matthew.Zelasko-Barrett@scouting.org. The District Commissioner Staff is in the process of auditing our rosters to verify that all of our records are up to date so that we can ensure that registration for summer day camps and resident camps go smoothly and that each Scout, Scouter, and adult leaders are covered with liability insurance for meetings, programs, events, and summer camp. Thank you for providing our Scouts with the best program possible!!

FUNDING THE SCOUTING ADVENTURE! 2016 POPCORN SALE!

This year, each unit will earn 34% commission.  Online sales earn a 50% commission! 73% of all dollars collected during the sale support local Scouting. The popcorn sale is a way for Scouts to support his or her way through the all of their activities during the year. CUB SCOUT DAY CAMP-CSI
 
A great time to hone a Cub Scout's skills is at Cub Scout Day Camp!! This year our Cub Scouts will be Investigators, and there is a variety of dates and locations to choose from. Please Welcome Jennifer Jordan!

We are happy to introduce you to Jennifer Jordan who joins us as a Unit Service Executive for the Pontiac - Manito District. Jennifer comes to us from the W. D. Boyce Council (Peoria, Illinois) where she also served as a U.S.E.
 
Jennifer was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations and Marketing from Bradley University. She enjoys dancing, reading and doing craft projects in her spare time. A future aspiration of hers is to travel to Europe and the Mediterranean. Jennifer has volunteered at a nursing home, the Boys and Girls Club and the Peoria Police Department. She plans to volunteer at the local animal shelter once she gets settled in. Jennifer currently resides in Rochester Hills with her significant other, Michael and her cat Rue

Cub Scout Day Camp
August 9 - 11, Historic Fort Wayne

Become a Cub Scout Investigator!  This 3-Day camp is for Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, and Webelos Scouts. Scout age siblings are welcome to attend. Each day is filled with round robin style activities ranging from Archery and BB gun shooting to crafts and specific rank specific advancements for each den level. Breakfast and Lunch is provided each day! This is NOT an overnight camp. Campers return home daily.
Cost: $75 which includes all materials, t-shirt, patch and a ton of fun!
Early bird price is $60.00 two weeks prior to camp starting. Financial assistance available! Contact your Unit Commissioner or  regina.reid@scouting.org for more information.
