REMOVAL OF EAST WING ADDITION REVEALS
 Original Moffat Library Building Footprint
Construction is well underway at the Historic Moffat Library building. The asbestos roof tiles were removed and remediated this past spring in preparation for the installation of new long-lasting slate tiles, which was the original material used for the roof back in 1887.

The three additions on the original 1887 building were the most affected areas in terms of storm and water damage. The former Town Recreation office addition, which was the hardest hit portion of the building, has been removed and the original brick 1887 structure is now visible as you travel down Route 208.  In addition, portions of the two other additions on the opposite side of the building, which were severely damaged due to roof leaks, have now been removed.

Summer Reading Program Kicks-Off!
The Moffat Library Summer Reading Program kick-off Family Fun Day was well attended with games, activities and for the whole family to celebrate an active July of reading and sports!

Kids of all ages and their parents were entranced by blowing out-sized bubbles, plastic bottle skittle bowling, sponge and bucket relay racing, throwing the chicken, actually being encased in enormous bubbles, tug-of-war, coloring activities & hula hooping!

To date, we have 300+ participants for our 2016 Summer Reading Program.
It's not too late to sign-up, either!
