BikeMaine is proud to welcome Wireless Partners as our wireless/broadband sponsor. They provide the coverage for both Verizon Wireless as well as Premium Choice Broadband. In addition their generous cash sponsorship, they are providing enhanced wireless access for riders in each of our host communities and will be working to fill-in any "dead" spots in their wireless network on our route.

Additionally, they are also sponsoring RaceJoy, an exciting new application that will be made available to all riders at no charge. RaceJoy will allow riders to be share with their families where they are on the route. We'll be releasing addition information in the coming newsletters. Additionally, Wireless Partners will ensure everyone has access to wifi at rest stops and camping areas.

Please join us in thanking Wireless Partners for their wonderful support of BikeMaine!
Dear Friend of BikeMaine,

We've been enjoying some phenomenal weather here in Maine over the last few weeks. I won't make any promises about the weather in September, but if it's anything like June and July, we're all in for a treat! The amazing weather allowed us to get out and ride the entire route and we were very pleased to find even more beautiful vistas (and fresh pavement) than we anticipated!

We are eagerly awaiting you to join us in Winter Harbor at Schoodic Institute on September 10th to kick-off our 4th annual BikeMaine. This newsletter serves as the first of three leading up to the event that will be packed with key information to assist with your planning and preparations for this year's event.

I want highlight a few key pieces of information:
  • Check-in on September 10th is from 1pm to 5pm.
  • Dinner on September 10th is the first meal being served as part of BikeMaine; camping will also be available on the evening of September 10th.
  • The first day of riding is September 11th.
  • The last day to pre-order a 2016 BikeMaine jersey is Thursday, July 21 (see more information below).

It is one of three Scenic Byways the 2016 BikeMaine route will explore.  Click to read the:

We'll begin Day 2 by riding to Beals and Great Wass Islands, two unique coastal communities at the center of the Downeast lobstering industry.  Click to read the: Day 2 Route Digest: Jonesport to Machais
BikeMaine Menu

We're thrilled to be working the Maine Farm & Sea Cooperative to plan, coordinate and oversee food service for the week of BikeMaine. The Maine Farm and Sea Cooperative works to maximize the amount of local food used in institutional foodservice operations across the state. They are working with each of our community food providers to use local foods whenever financially and logistically possible. This provides a direct impact to the Maine agricultural economy. They are committed to building a resilient food economy less dependent on global supply chains and more dependent on our communities.
