Hot Club of Philadelphia

The Hot Club of Philadelphia was started in 2001 by guitarist Barry Wahrhaftig and are an acoustic ensemble dedicated to playing 'Gypsy Jazz," the term used to describe the music pioneered by the legendary original 'Hot Club of France Quintet,' which was led by guitarist Django Reinhardt and Violinist Stephane Grappelli. The Hot Club of Philadelphia mixes the original style along with their own modern influences.

Hay is justifiably proud of his place in pop history, but since moving to Los Angeles in 1989, he's made 11 critically-acclaimed solo albums, including the highly successful Man at Work, and has recently announced the release of his new album Next Year People on Compass Records.
