ATAA condemns the attempted military coup in Turkey

Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA) condemns the attempted military coup in Turkey, which claimed the lives of 161 and wounded more than 1,400.

The failed attempt to overthrow the current government in Turkey is a blatant disregard for the democratic process and a mere intervention against democracy, international law, and human rights.

ATAA stands for democracy based on international principles, norms and standards - the tenets upon which the Turkish nation was founded.

ATAA offers its condolences to those families who have lost loved ones and wishes for a quick and full recovery to those individuals who were injured during these tragic events.
