Dear WVCS families,

Happy summer to you! Our faculty and staff are busy preparing for the first day of the upcoming school year. Our classrooms are in the process of becoming shiny and new. The classrooms are being scrubbed, waxed, and painted. As our faculty enjoy their summer vacation with their families and friends, they are still preparing to make next year their best year yet.

The school office is open every day from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday through the month of July. Please stop by or call 818-884-4710 if you have any questions.

With all of the preparations going on around us, we want to be sure you are also prepared for the upcoming school year. Below are welcome letters, summer assignments, some important dates, and information regarding your child's specific grade and general information for all of our elementary students and families.

School Uniform Orders - order by July 18
Have you ordered your school uniforms?
We have new school polos available for immediate purchase in the school office. There are limited sizes and colors. You may also order your uniforms through our new vendor by visiting our school website to view the uniform options available. Students may continue to wear their previously purchased polo shirts. The school uniform policy requires all students to wear WVCS polos, jackets, sweaters and hats with the school logo. Shorts, pants and skirts may be purchased at local stores. All shorts, skirts and pants must be navy blue or khaki. No cargo shorts or cargo pants. Please be mindful of the length of skirts and skorts. Our new vendor offers skorts, skirts and pants at a reasonable cost. All outerwear including hats must be purchased from our vendor. Please place your order with the school office by  Monday, July 18 in order to have your uniforms in time for the first day of school. 

New End of Day School Hours:
Due to an increase in enrollment, we will stagger our end of school day pick up time for the elementary and middle school.

Elementary School Hours:
8:10 a.m. - 2:55 p.m. Grades TK-1
8:10 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Grades 2-5

Middle School
7:55 a.m. - 2:55 p.m. Grades 6-8

All Student Orientation - Monday, Aug. 15
Please visit our campus anytime with your child/ren on between 1:00pm - 4:00 p.m. You are welcome to visit teachers in the classrooms. The school office staff and enrichment staff will be located in the cafeteria. We will have uniforms, lunch service information, school forms and information about music lessons, art classes, sports, daycare, after school programs, drama and more.

First Day of School - Tuesday, Aug. 16
TK and Kindergarten families please plan to park your car behind the gymnasium building and walk your child to their classroom.

Cafeteria Services:
Please keep in mind the cafeteria will not be available until the second week of school. Please pack snacks and lunch for your children's school day.

Aug 16 - First day of school
Aug 16-19 Cafeteria closed, bring lunch & snacks from home
Aug 25 - Back to School Night @ 6:00 p.m.

Thank you to those of you who participated in PTO this year! We raised almost $10,000 this year! PTO still meets during the summer in preparation for the beginning of the school year. Please contact Lori Wilson if you're interested in dates/times for the summer PTO meetings. Thank you for giving back to your students classroom/school!

Box Tops for Education! Please continue collecting them over the summer and turn them in next year! This fundraiser is continuous and funds many needed items! Thank you!

It has been an honor to service on PTO this year - for our teachers, staff, school and students. There is great joy in serving and watching God's hand at work in our school. May He continue to bless WVCS and all our families! I hope you are enjoying your summer and look forward to another great year starting in August! Thank you for all that have served and given many hours and donations this year! PTO cannot function without you!
